After centuries of war between men and vampires, the Church assigns warrior-priests to vanquish the vampires. The survivors are kept in reserves and hives and the humans live in chaotic cities ruled by the Church. The priests are outcast by the Church, afraid of the power of their fighting skill. When Shannon and Owen Pace, who live in an outpost, are slaughtered by vampires and their niece Lucy is abducted by the vampires, the local sheriff Hicks seeks out Owen's brother, the Priest, to search for Lucy. The Priest asks permission to Monsignor Orelas but he denies. So the Priest breaks his vows and travels with Hicks to track down the vampires and rescue Lucy before they turn her into a vampire. Sooner the warrior Priestess joins the Priest and Hicks in their quest. PRIEST, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, is set in an alternate world – one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend, a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess who possesses otherworldly fighting skills. Priest 3D They don't make post apocalyptic vampire movies like they used to. Priest 3D is straightforward really. Girl gets kidnapped by vampires and a rebellious priest (Paul Bettany) goes against his Catholic order to rescue her. There is more to it than that, but it's not much. As thin as the plot is, there's also a twist. Which did actually surprise me. Best thing about Priest 3D are the performances. Mainly Bettany who plays the conflicted priest very well. A man torn between his religious beliefs and his sense of duty. I thought he was great as the lead, showing a meticulous style of leadership throughout the film. Great support from Maggie Q, her best performance to date. And the ever consistent Cam Gigandet, who continues to show what a great character actor he is. Good to see Christopher Plummer in movies again, he's another reliable actor. And Alan Dale aka Jim Robinson, makes a small appearance as Bettany's mentor. Karl Urban (not a SPOILER) does a decent job as the main bad guy. Although at times he came off like he was in panto, covering for Widow Twanky. Set pieces weren't as impressive as the trailer makes out they are. Fight scenes were awful and are lazily choreographed. Mind you, the end finale set piece was good. Both Urban and Bettany's characters fighting each other on top of a moving train. Looked real enough, even though I'm sure it was all CGI. What else? Vampires looked cheap and unimpressive, and the story could've been much better. Only real surprise and highlight of the movie was the twist. Other than that, it's the performances that carry the film. And because of that only, I'll give Priest the rating I've given it. Not a must see film by any means. It would seem Bettany has found God with the religious films he's been doing of late. If so, I hope God can help him make better choices.

You'll see I haven't mentioned 3D once. Oh wait! Priest

Come to think of it, priests would make ideal vampire-hunters since they'd have no problem chasing down young, shirtless males who like to suck on things.

Unfortunately, the vampires that the priest in this action movie is stalking aren't twinks.

Years after the church eradicated all vampires, as well as decommissioned the church- sanctioned vampire-hunters known as Priests, a recent attack points to their return.

Now a former priest (Paul Bettany) must align himself with a novice sheriff (Cam Gigandet) to retrieve a kidnapped girl.

However, along the way, he must face-off against a former friend (Karl Urban) now working for the bloodsuckers.

Based on a comic book, Priest is an interesting take on the genre: the vampires are grotesque, the action is slick and the story has sufficient twists.

As for the best way to obliterate vampires in one fell swoop: give'em free passes to a holy water-slide. (Yellow Light) In an era where monster mythology has become raw material for all sorts of mediocrity, Priest is one of the best examples of a broad-scale vampire blockbuster. When the family of Owen Pace (Stephen Moyer), brother of Priest (Paul Bettany), is attacked by vampires, his wife Shannon (Mädchen Amick) killed, and their daughter Lucy (Lily Collins) abducted; Priest disobeys Monseignor Orelas (Christopher Plummer) and goes against church law to find Lucy before she is turned into a vampire. Aided by Lucy's boyfriend Sheriff Hicks (Cam Gigandet) and the Priestess (Maggie Q), the three follow Lucy's trail and come mano-a-mano against Black Hat (Karl Urban), an ex-priest who was captured by vampires and turned into a "human vampire" by the vampire queen herself. Priest is based on a Korean manhwa (graphic novel series), also titled Priest, by Hyung Min-Woo. An interview with Hyung in Priest: Volume 3 states that the comic was inspired by the video game Blood (1997) (1997). The manhwa was adapted for the screen by Cory Goodman. Priest is set in a post-apocalyptic alternate world in which vampires and humans have been warring for centuries. Facing extinction, mankind withdrew behind walled cities under the protection of the church. As its ultimate weapon, the church trained "priests" with extraordinary powers in the art of vampire combat. The majority of the vampires were killed, the remaining vampires placed in reservations, and the warrior priests assimilated back into society where they disappeared into obscurity. The train carrying Lucy and the vampire army continues to speed toward Jericho. While Priestess rushes ahead on her motorbike in an attempt to set a bomb and blow up the train, Priest and Hicks search the train for Lucy, battling vampires along the way. Hicks stops them by shooting holes in the ceiling, allowing the sunlight to pour in on them. "You would have made a good Priest," Priest compliments him. Hicks find Lucy, but Black Hat manages to knock him off the train. He then nails Priest to the wall, set the cabin on fire, and escapes with Lucy to the top of the train. Priest manages to break free and goes after them. As they run along the top of the train, they notice Priestess heading straight for them on her motorbike, which she has outfitted with the explosives. As the motorbike and train begin to explode, she jumps off the bike. At the same time, Lucy and Priest leap off the train, and it blows to bits, killing Black Hat and his entire vampire army. Priest returns to Cathedral City where Orelas is holding a church service. He tosses a severed vampire head at Orelas' feet, angering him into denying that there are any more vampires left. "The war is over," Orelas shouts. As Priest walks out the door, he replies, "No, it's just beginning." In the final scene, he heads out into the wasteland on his motorbike. He stops to talk with Priestess, who informs him that the other Priests will rendez-vous with him at Seven Cities. Designed for a broader rating (no nudity, one F-bomb), the action scenes in Priest were pretty close to qualifying for an R rating. To assure the PG-13 rating, some minor modifications of the images and the audio needed to be made, just like the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) demanded. In a couple of scenes, the CG blood has been reduced and colored differently. Furthermore, some obvious noises during the process of stabbing or some bones that get broken have been removed from the audio track. The fact that brutal stabbing itself is fine with the MPAA, as long as is doesn't sound that gruesome, made the director wonder. a5c7b9f00b Tyrant full movie 720p downloadThe Fence movie in hindi dubbed downloadBros Being Jocks full movie hd 1080pEpisode 1.185 full movie hd 1080p download kickass moviethe Hall of Fame downloadDownload the Internet Gangsters full movie tamil dubbed in torrentBrotherhood of the Bell full movie in hindi 720p downloadEurocrime!
